PRINCIPLE OF WORKING OF A SHAPER
The single point fool held within the tool post of the reciprocating ram of the machine performs
cutting operation on the workspiece fixed on the worktable.
The tool performs cutting during the working stroke (forward stroke), but no removal of the material takes place during return stroke (backward stroke). Both strokes form a cycle of working of the machine.
For shaping in horizontal direction, workspiece is fed against the reciprocating tool after every
cutting cycle.
For shaping in vertical direction, tool is fed vertically towards the workpiece after
