Link:- A resistant body or a group of resistant bodies with rigid connections preventing their relative moment is known as a link.
* A link is also known as kinematic link or link element.
* A link has two characteristic :-
1. It must have relative motion
2. It must have resistant body
TYPE OF LINK
There are three Types of link
a. Rigid link
b. Flexible link
c. Fluid link
A. Rigid Link:- Rigid link is one which does not undergo any deformation while transmitting motion.Ex- crank, connecting rod ,poston, etc.
B. Flexible Link :- A flexible link is one which is parting deformed in a manner not to affect the transmission of motion.Ex- belts, Ropes, chain, etc.
C. Fluid Link :- A fluid link is one which is formed by having a fluid in a receptacle and the motion is transmitted through the fluid by pressure or compression only.
